Tour the 1876 Shinn House & Gardens
Generally the House is open for tours on the first Wednesday and Third Sunday of the month. If the tour day falls on a major holiday, the tours may cancelled. Please come visit on another day. You may include an online or in-person tour of the gardens as well as the house.
Note that the front lawn is often rented during the summer season. You may still visit the Japanese Garden and barnyard areas, even if there is a rental.
If you are coming from far away and want to see all of the park, you may call the city to see if the lawn area is rented.
Please contact mphf.secretary@gmail.com to find out more.

The park is owned by the city of Fremont. You can rent the lawn area from the city on weekends. Scan down to "Rental Information for Shinn Historic Park and Arboretum." The city provides tables and chairs. You provide the birthday party, graduation celebration, wedding, or whatever needs celebrating.
Did you know that you can also arrange for a docent-led tour of the house during your rental? Contact mphf.secretary@gmail.com to find out how to get a docent-led tour of the Shinn House during your rental.
During your event, our docents, dressed in Victorian attire, will give the guests a guided tour of the house. You are allowed to take all the photos you want. It adds a special element to your event by having the house open. The fee for having the Shinn House Docents at the Shinn House is $200. A garden tour may also be arranged for a fee of $100. This is a tax deductible as we are a non profit organization.
